Equitable Leadership and Collaborative Strategies: A Framework for Organizational Success

Abstract

Strategic projects often fail, with over 70% encountering significant challenges and nearly $30 trillion in financial losses. This chapter tackles the issue of insufficient leadership competencies among executives, proposing a framework that aligns key impact factors with essential leadership skills. It emphasizes collaborative leadership, change agents, and equitable leadership for project success. Collaborative leadership fosters inclusive decision-making, increasing stakeholder commitment and success rates. Change agents overcome resistance and rally positive forces. System change leaders engage in reflective practices, while equitable leadership promotes social justice and empowers marginalized groups. The chapter explores critical factors such as Thirdspace, microaggressions, and interlocking oppressions, underscoring the need for equitable leadership skills. Future research should assess these roles’ impact on project success and develop techniques for sustainable success.
